Tal Parmenter is a graduate of Illinois State University, holding a BS degree in Accounting-Business Information Systems. Prior to assuming his current position, Tal was Information Systems Administrator for Central Illinois Trucks, Inc. (CIT).
Tal first became interested in computerized information systems in the mid-1970s as a Law Enforcement Communications Officer, working with the emerging LEADS (Law Enforcement Administration Data System) and NCIC (National Crime Information Center) computerized information systems. And, later as Chief of Police, instituted a program of "Total Activity Reporting", utilizing the I-UCR (Illinois Uniform Crime Report) information system to generate analysis of police activity for management purposes.
In 1990 Tal left law enforcement to take a purchasing position with CIT, where he was responsible for maintaining the computerized systems that managed the purchasing, pricing and inventory control for CIT’s Parts Distribution operations. Over the next 6 years, Tal gradually assumed the role of providing in-house information systems support to the Truck Service, Truck Sales and Corporate Management branches of the business, also. After a brief absence to further his education, Tal returned to CIT in 1997 to assume the newly created position of Information Systems Administrator, responsible for the implementation, management and support of hardware and software systems for all CIT locations throughout Illinois.
Tal joined the staff of Illinois
State University, Applied Computer Science Dept. in 1999.
